competition update

well i've been booted from the so you think you can scrap

im a little depleted ,but i suppose i just didnt make the grade this week...

sewing just ain't my bag.

congratulations to the other scrapsisters going thru to round 8....

yay, now i can get back to the pile of cj's on my deck....

nothing to share work wise..im feeling a little scrap flat .

ok a quick rundown cause its SCRAPTACULARS ROUND 7 IN THE

SO YOU THINK YOU CAN SCRAP COMPETITION..

unfortunately this weeks criteria ,welll aint really my strongest technique..(you know it Chelle)

This week's genre is HABERDASHERY!

Page size is your choice (double is OK too),

it must have:- 75% of the elements adhered by stitching

(No double sided tape. All your photos count as one element, your whole title as one element)

- at least 2 different stitch types (zig zag, straight, blanket, machine, handstitch, french knots, etc)-

at least 2 pieces of fabric-

a handmade embellishment (a heart cut from felt would suffice)-

at least 3 (or more) photos- ribbon
and well seeing as ive been at work all week and in sydney on the weekend.it didnt leave me a lot of sewing time..i know its time consuming..i really should have hunted down a sweing machine..but it will do

ive been in town again this weekend...boy this is becoming a bit of a habit...which i love ..heheh
so on friday night i attended the SCRAPBOOKING MEMORIES/CANON PIXMA PARTY ,,which was lots of fun ..heres my post from SM

this is my view from my hotel...i was watching the underground hotel turn from pink to purple,blue to green ,yellow to white ..i swear i was being hypnotised by glorious colour...

then i was up early to take some shots of the city ,

and to catch up with paul's cousin Karen who works in the city oin sat with her b/f....karen and chris..sooo cool to catch you both ...

so excited by your impending trip to paradise in Europe..ahhhhh europe....i want to come too.

my gorgeous friend Louise and i had lunch on the harbour...

then a beer in front of the bridge,oh its a hard life isnt it

while i was having a fun time in the city ,

my kids were running around the city on a mission impossible style party.

i snapped this shot as they sped past me at circular quay.heheh

it was my god daughters birthday and her folks thru the best birthday bash..the kids where given clues and then sent on a mission to save our heroine Banna fontanna from Dick Dastedly who intended to run back to back episodes of banna on commercial tv for the next 3 years..the children had to chase and hunt down dick ,who was dressed to the nines and he had a home made banna thrown over his shoulder..the kids were,being given clues alone the way from all the family and friends...wow it was so elaborate.every body dressed up and put in one amazing effort and my kids thought it was the coolest party they have ever been too

also great to catch up with .............................

paul and miho whom shared yesterday afternoon with me,after louise and i shopped for bags at paddys...you should see mygorgeous new D&G green bag ..mmmmm its lush .

dinner at the party house ..yumm love you guys so much ,cant wait to celebrate my 40th in town with you next month..yipppeeeeeee

the criteria
LO must have only ONE photo MAXIMUM size 4x6..-

LO needs to be about something that was difficult for you to live through, a loss, sad time - LO must have AT LEAST 200 words of journalling if computer generated or 100 words if handwritten (we're focusing on storytelling right, whats a story without words )

Journalling can be hidden on the LO but we need to see it for judging, so don't journal anything you don't want to share- LO must also include SOME handwritten journalling somewhere on the LO (this criteria is not restricted so just a date or name will do)-

LO must only have ONE piece of Patterned Paper on it

I wonder so much about different things, do you ?

During this time I seem to be thinking a lot about my dad ,due to a c.j ;swap im currently in, based on grief and loss. And its got me wondering.

I wonder what I would be like to have lived a different life!

To never have had my father die, when, I was a child of 4.

To have the most important person in your life gone forever.

To not fully understand what was happening in my world.

To lose living in paradise. On a lighthouse, with my family.

Would I have been happy, content and at peace, if we remained there?

Would it have been idyllic? Or is it just a wish, a dream, a childhood fantasy?

I’d like to think that it would have been amazing and I would have been the person I was supposed to be all along……….. I wonder?

I wonder what it would have been like had I not moved back to the Central Coast, after my fathers’ death. If we had we moved somewhere else?

Finally we settled again, a new home, mum a new partner, me starting to be me again.

I wonder what would it have been like, had I not lost my step father at 13?

Although he wasn’t my paternal father, he still became a part of our lives,

and yet again, a family tragedy occurred.I wonder how life would have been different.

My heart longs for answers to questions that I’ll never know the answer too.

But I can’t spend my life wondering.

This time, right now is my time to release the wondering and grow within, to take hold of my past, to enlighten my future, and change what i wonder, into what i am.

Inspired by a new soul, a spirit with life’s heartbeat in their hands, a catalyst now,

for my own change,I see this time is the perfect time to work out my passion for living and remember that life and I, am important.

I am seeing the beauty in all things again. Excited by each new day.

And now I’m starting to wonder differently, I wonder what life can be?

With a different outlook, and attitude to match,I’m feeling fresh and free spirited again.

But still analysing and evaluating and still just a little wondering,

But wondering about a new me, and my goals, dreams and passions.

Music ,beloved music that i have lost to my children’s pop music eeeccckk ,

i reclaim my music~ i bought the new faker cd this week yay~,

i went to see Richard Clapton live a few weeks ago , to travel,

oh my passion of travel is deep inside and it’s time to dream of overseas travel again.

In between times the odd trip to Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne will just have to do.

And to art and creativity.The beauty of art, to create with abandon,

to give in to spontaneous creativity, to go with free flowing ideas,

to spend more time seeing new art and sharing ideas.

To grow and be me again and to find a little of more of myself everyday.

I wonder now a little more about me .

OK so my journalling blew out a little from 200 to 544 words..hehehehehehehand it waffles a little ,and i didnt want it to end on a downer ,as a postive optimistic perosn by nature i had to end it this way..heheheh

now ive been scrappin this weekend with the incredible Georgia Moir..

how's your weekend going?

ive been a little creative /no power scrappin like my last post suggested ,

but focused on this little beauty.

so im teaching class at a local scrap shop.the papercraftsmailbox along with the totally awesome Dione Molina and the super dooper talented Georgia Moir , and a DT requirement is to scrap a mailbox...its been taunting me for a couple of weeks now and i finally took to it last night and finished it off..what do you think folks??????

i would just love to recieve some snail mail inside it ....

and this one is to show my bro and max .i finally got this one back from display at the shop and i didnt show it when the mag came out so i thought i'd showcase it now ,considering i had to take shots of it for a new blog im involved in with the awesome Dee Molina

so i made this for Scrapbooking memories magazine as a commissioned product challenge

yay .check out this lil beauty ..donski wow ,,thats all i can say ..wow i love everything about it and cant wait to jump into it..but i have 3 cj's sitting waiting to be done before it..so im literally going to throw myself into my art this week and finish some very negelcted pieces.i've been side tracked a little ,but today ive had a reality check(wink)

and im focussing on the resposiblity of finishing up some of these swaps but not before i show you last nights effort ,inspired by louise nelsons gorgeous work .
